Red Umbrella Theatre Co-operative

In this country, people are always talking about dreams. You can be your dream. You can live your dream. But that’s just a clever way of getting people to shut up.

How does the pursuit of success both define and restrain us? Five nobodies find out as their journeys of awakening mirror the lives of their retro idols. If you are intrigued by the stars of the past – Judy Garland, Edith Piaf, Patsy Cline, Billie Holiday or Maria Callas, you will love “Songs for Nobodies”.

“Songs for Nobodies” was penned by award winning playwright Joanna Murray-Smith, who has captivated audiences around the world with her sensitive and heartfelt explorations of the human condition.

Join Red Umbrella Theatre Cooperative for this memorable night of theatre, music, food and culture. Enjoy a night under the stars as you walk part of Nambour’s Vintage trail stopping at five beguiling destinations. Enjoy the vintage vibe as the the play unfolds at each venue. Who will we meet at the next stop and what will their story reveal?

Come dressed in retro or vintage (optional). Supported by playwright Joanna Murray-Smith and Nambour businesses: Mr Beasley’s Vintage, Arsenic and Love Letters, New Creations Scrapbooking and Switch Espresso.

The function is a fundraiser for women’s services Laurel House and BRISSC who support survivors of sexual violence.
