Somewhere high. Somewhere beautiful. These were two of the clues given to diners who joined in the Sunshine Coast Food and Wine Club’s first underground dinner on 5 December. Diner’s signed up for a private three-course meal to be held at a secret location, revealed to them only shortly before the event! The event was run in conjunction with Back for Seconds Catering and Events.

Somewhere high featured the setting sun, the breeze, and a view of the hinterland as diners began their evening with drinks on the rooftop of C-Square!

Somewhere beautiful surrounded diners with works of art by painters near and far at Gallery Loloma, where an entrée of macadamia-crusted salmon was served, followed by a main of crispy pork belly with a caramel chilli sauce and an apple and fennel slaw, then chocolate tart.

Somewhere else beautiful brought the evening to a close as diners sipped cocktails in the elegant surrounds of The Bison Bar.

‘It was fabulous,’ said Sunshine Coast Food and Wine Club organiser Jacqui Miley. ‘The food, the locations…it was a really special night. And a big thanks to Charlie Wetere of Gallery Loloma for all his help. We may well be back at C-Square in the future!’
