Recent arrivals to the C-Square precinct, Switch Espresso Bar are now ready to expand their menu and opening hours to cater for night trade.

After upgrading the kitchen to allow for a wider menu offering, Switch owner Tina Whitton has been searching long and hard for the right chef to join her in the café.

I knew that I wanted to offer tasty meals at great prices and am really excited to have Nambour local, Wanthanee Mollee, join us to create delicious Thai food.

Wanthanee has been cooking from a very early age, as is the custom in Thailand. “I started cooking when I was about five, learning to prepare meals for the family. I have been cooking ever since.”

Opening Friday and Saturdays from 5:30pm, the main menu features Thai-style curries and stir-fries. There is also plenty of choice for families who want to grab a bite before heading up to see a movie at the Majestic Cinemas.

As Tina explains, “We’ve included some old favourites on the entrée menu, like calamari with house-made tartare and bruschetta.” Kids are well catered for too, with fried rice, dim sims and nuggets and chips among some of the kid’s menu items.

Tina and Wanthanee will work together to tweak the menu based on customer feedback. “We are both passionate about serving great-tasting food,” says Tina.

And for those who are health-conscious with a sweet tooth, Tina’s famous raw treats will be available for dessert.

Switch Espresso Bar will start the new night dining from Friday 10 March.
